Yankees Projected To Sign Slugger To 10-Year, $360M Deal To Bolster Roster

The New York Yankees have a lot of important decisions on their plate this winter. They have superstar outfielder Cody Bellinger heading to free agency, which would be a crushing loss for the Bronx Bombers. Bellinger was one of their best players this season. New York needs to do everything in its power to re-sign or replace Bellinger this offseason. Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly recently predicted the Yankees would replace Bellinger in the outfield by signing Chicago Cubs superstar Kyle Tucker to a 10-year, $360 million deal. “We’ve picked the Yankees to land Tucker, essentially giving them a big-money corner outfielder to make up for the loss of Juan Soto last winter,” Kelly wrote. “But what if the Yankees-with uncertainty about what they have in Jasson Domínguez and an aging Aaron Judge-decide to bring back Bellinger or Grisham because they can play center field?” Tucker is the only free agent on the market who could work as a replacement for Bellinger in the outfield. Defense is where Bellinger has the edge over Tucker, but if Tucker can stay relatively healthy over his hypothetical 10-year stint with the Yankees, his bat would make up for the gap in defense. When healthy, Tucker is one of the best pure hitters in baseball. The Yankees need to make a move to get over the hump next season. Adding Tucker would certainly help do that.
