Ahead of Black Friday, Home Depot discounted its Ryobi 2-pack battery kit and even included a free tool with purchases. Deals like these are perfect opportunities to stock up on spare batteries without breaking the bank.

### Keep a Small Battery Pack Handy

If you’re on a budget or just starting your collection, at least grab one spare small battery pack. While everyone wants a massive 8 Ah high-performance battery pack, those can be pricey. Instead, get a few smaller 2 Ah battery packs from your favorite brand.

Having a small battery pack means you always have a backup ready while your bigger, primary battery recharges. Additionally, smaller batteries are lightweight and low-profile, making them ideal for tasks where portability is key. For example, I have an older 4 Ah battery attached to my inverter that I use to power string lights or charge gadgets while camping.

Whether you’re a professional tradesperson or a garage DIY enthusiast, you can never have too many power tool battery packs. Keeping a few extras around for big jobs, outdoor projects, or using them with an inverter to charge other devices simply makes sense.
