India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana recently made history by scoring the second-fastest century in women’s One Day Internationals (WODIs). She achieved this incredible feat in just 50 balls during the third match against Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. The same match also witnessed Australia’s Beth Mooney scoring a century off 57 balls.

Australian legend Karen Rolton once held the record for the fastest century in WODIs, reaching the milestone in only 57 balls. This memorable innings came during the 2000 World Cup in a match against South Africa in Lincoln, New Zealand. Rolton was instrumental in her team’s chase of 170 runs, finishing unbeaten on 107 off 67 balls. Her knock included 18 boundaries as Australia secured a comfortable nine-wicket victory.

### #3 Beth Mooney – 57 balls
Beth Mooney now shares the third spot with Rolton. In the recent Delhi match against India, Mooney arrived at number four and played with great intent, maintaining the momentum established by the top order. She raced to her century in 57 balls and eventually scored 138 off 75 deliveries. Mooney’s innings featured 23 fours and a six, contributing to Australia’s massive total of 412/10—their joint-highest ODI team total ever.

Smriti Mandhana’s stunning innings in Delhi pushed her ahead of Mooney and Rolton to claim the second-fastest hundred in WODIs. Opening the batting, Mandhana maintained an aggressive strike rate from the start, reaching her fifty in just 23 balls before completing the century in 50. She finished with 125 runs off 63 balls, including 17 boundaries and five sixes. Although India fell short, managing 369/10, this remains their highest-ever WODI total against Australia.

The record for the fastest century in WODIs is held by former Australian captain Meg Lanning. She scored her lightning-fast hundred in just 45 balls against New Zealand at North Sydney in 2012. Chasing a modest target of 178, Lanning’s explosive knock helped Australia get off to a flying start. She was part of a dominant 146-run opening partnership with Alyssa Healy, who scored 62. Lanning’s innings ended at 103 off 50 balls and included 18 boundaries and three sixes, as Australia secured a comfortable five-wicket win.
