Upgrading the Workshop should be one of your first goals in ARC Raiders, and you’ll need rare items like Rusted Gears to do it. Finding these items can be a frustrating and laborious process given their scarcity, but we’ve got you covered with the best chances of getting them in this guide.

Where to Find Rusted Gears

Rusted Gears are classified as Industrial items, so you’ll want to focus on Industrial loot zones to find them. However, even knowing where to look doesn’t guarantee you’ll get Rusted Gears easily. For example, after fully clearing two massive loot runs and opening dozens of containers, I only managed to come away with one Rusted Gear.

While you might get lucky opening desk drawers and cabinets, they primarily contain Residential and Commercial loot—even in Industrial zones—so they’re less likely to yield Rusted Gears.

Tips and Final Thoughts

You’ll likely need to complete multiple runs to collect the three Rusted Gears required to upgrade the Gunsmith Workshop station to level three. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t find them right away. There are plenty of other Workshop stations to upgrade, as well as many other valuable items, weapons, and crafting materials to gather for future needs.
