Chinese automaker Chery has recently patented its Tiggo 8 SUV in India, signaling a potential launch in the Indian market soon. The Tiggo 8 is a large SUV, measuring 4.7 meters in length and featuring a wheelbase of 2.7 meters, making it spacious and comfortable for family use.
### Specifications
Under the hood, the Tiggo 8 is equipped with a turbo-petrol engine that delivers up to 241 horsepower and 390Nm of torque. This is paired with a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), promising an engaging driving experience.
The SUV also boasts a host of premium features. It includes a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multi-color ambient lighting, and wireless charging capabilities. For enhanced comfort, the interior sports elegant brown upholstery. Additionally, the panoramic view camera offers excellent visibility around the vehicle.
### Safety Features
Chery has prioritized safety with nine airbags installed throughout the cabin, along with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that offer up to 19 different functions. The integrated dashcam is an added feature to improve security and convenience.
### Market Entry and Competition
While Chery has not officially announced its launch plans in India, the patenting of the Tiggo 8 strongly indicates an imminent entry into the competitive SUV segment. The vehicle is expected to be priced around ₹30 lakh, positioning it against established rivals like the Hyundai Tucson, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier EV, Jeep Meridian, and BYD Atto 3.
As the Indian SUV market continues to evolve with increased demand for premium and feature-rich options, the Tiggo 8 could make a significant impact with its combination of size, performance, and advanced technology. Stay tuned for more updates on its official launch and detailed specifications.
