Sparta secured a hard-fought 59-52 overtime victory against Chatham in the Chatham Tournament held in Chatham. The win was led by Kaelyn Sabanosh, who scored a team-high 16 points.

The game was tightly contested from start to finish. Both teams were tied at 26 points each by halftime. Sparta entered the fourth quarter holding a narrow 37-35 lead. However, Chatham fought back in the final period, outscoring Sparta 15-13 to force overtime, with the score tied at 50.

In the extra period, Sparta took control and outpaced Chatham 9-2 to secure the victory. In addition to Sabanosh’s 16 points, Kayla Barreau contributed 15 points and Brooke Shust added 14 for Sparta.

On the Chatham side, Lucy Arps led all scorers with 17 points, while Ava Paone added 14. Noelle Grady also made a significant contribution with 11 points.

With the win, Sparta improved their record to 3-1, while Chatham fell to 2-4.
