Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s ‘Priorities’ Mocked As He Plays American Climate Hero at COP30 in Brazil

The COP30 climate summit in Brazil has arrived, bringing with it the usual irony and hypocrisy we often see at these “save the planet” meetings. Nothing says “save the planet” quite like hacking down a strip of rainforest so eco-advocates can drive their gas guzzlers to a climate summit—especially after many attendees arrived in private jets.

Just in case the rhetoric at the conference wasn’t thick enough, Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse dropped in to make his contribution and pat himself on the back. But Whitehouse wasn’t there just as a Democrat. California Governor Gavin Newsom also traveled all the way to Brazil, blaming the Palisades fires on climate change in what many see as one of his most shameless deflections of responsibility yet.

One has to wonder about the carbon footprint of this latest “climate conference.” The environmental cost alone might prompt Whitehouse to do a deep dive into Bill Gates’ high school yearbook—searching for problematic words or phrases, no doubt.

And one more thing to keep in mind: this pattern never fails. We’re assuming, of course, that Whitehouse traveled to Brazil at taxpayers’ expense.

**Editor’s Note:** The Democratic Party has never been less popular, as voters increasingly reject its globalist agenda and continued alignment with the UN climate initiatives many now view as misguided.
