Police Blotter: 26-year-old woman killed in Quincy

A Quincy man faces murder charges after being found with stab wounds alongside a deceased woman in an apartment on Saturday night, the Norfolk District Attorney announced Sunday.

At approximately 11 p.m. Saturday, Quincy Police received a 911 call and were dispatched to an apartment complex located at 500 Falls Boulevard, according to reports from the DA’s office and the police department.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 26-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man inside the apartment, both suffering from serious injuries. The woman, whose name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, later identified as Guiovani Garcia of Quincy, sustained apparent stab wounds and was transported to a Boston hospital for treatment.

Guiovani Garcia now faces murder charges and is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy on Monday, officials confirmed.

The investigation involved multiple agencies, including Massachusetts State Police, Quincy Police, Quincy Fire Department, and Brewster Ambulance. State Police Crime Scene Services Section and chemists assigned to the Crime Lab are also assisting with the ongoing probe.

Officials emphasized that the investigation remains active.

Boston Police responded to 217 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the department’s incident log. Among these were arrests for one robbery, six aggravated assaults, one residential burglary, one larceny from a vehicle, 18 miscellaneous larcenies, and one auto theft.

– Job Duffrene, Esmond St., Dorchester: Conspiracy (warrant arrest outside of Boston)
– David Aylward, 15 12th, Lowell: Trespass
– Dakari Daley, Lyon St., Dorchester: Receiving a stolen motor vehicle
