Pakistan Cricket Team Jersey Scam: PCB Accused Of Providing Poor Quality Uniform For Asia Cup 2025

The controversies surrounding the Pakistani cricket team in the ongoing 2025 Asia Cup show no signs of abating. Following the ‘No Handshake’ row involving the Indian cricket team, Pakistan now finds itself embroiled in a fresh controversy related to the team’s jerseys.
Former Pakistani cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman took to social media to criticize the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), accusing it of corruption concerning the poor quality of the players’ uniforms. Atiq-uz-Zaman wrote on X that the Pakistan team has been provided with such low-quality jerseys that the players are drenched in sweat during matches.
He stated, “This is what happens when tenders are given to friends instead of professionals. Our players are drenched in sweat, and corruption is dripping even more than the sweat.”
### Upcoming Clash: Pakistan vs Bangladesh
Looking ahead, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in a crucial Super 4 clash on Thursday, September 25. Both teams enter this match in a do-or-die situation after suffering defeats against India in their previous encounters.
### Additional Controversy: Players in Hot Water
Meanwhile, Pakistan players Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf are facing allegations over provocative gestures made during the match against India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the duo.
The complaint was lodged on Wednesday, and a hearing by the ICC is expected if Sahibzada and Rauf deny the allegations in writing. Both players may have to appear before ICC Elite Panel Referee Richie Richardson for a formal hearing.
During the September 21 match, Haris Rauf made gestures mimicking the bringing down of a plane, allegedly to mock India’s military action, following chants of “Kohli, Kohli” from Indian supporters. On the other hand, Sahibzada celebrated his half-century with a gun-firing gesture, which has drawn widespread criticism.
