Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday called out Senate Democrats as a whole after eight lawmakers sided with Republicans on a deal to reopen the government.

Ocasio-Cortez told reporters that it’s more than just Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) who should face criticism over the deal’s passage. Schumer met a heap of criticism from other Democrats, but the congresswoman emphasized that responsibility extends beyond him.

“There’s a broader issue with how some Senate Democrats handled this process,” Ocasio-Cortez said, highlighting the need for greater party unity in critical votes like this one.
