MANILA, Philippines — MREIT Inc. plans to double its portfolio to one million square meters (sq m) of gross leasable area (GLA) by 2027. The company aims to achieve this growth by targeting the retail assets of its sponsor, Megaworld Corp.

MREIT disclosed on Monday that it intends to take advantage of the continued growth in consumer spending and the strong momentum in mall leasing. This strategic move is expected to strengthen its position in the retail property market and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
