Microsoft (MSFT) has reported its quarterly earnings for Q1 2026, posting impressive results that exceeded analyst expectations. The company announced revenue of $77.67 billion USD, surpassing estimates and signaling strong financial performance.

In terms of earnings per share (EPS), Microsoft reported actual EPS of $4.13, beating both the analyst consensus of $3.65 and the whisper estimate of $3.71. This robust performance highlights the company’s continued growth and operational efficiency.

“We delivered a strong start to the fiscal year, exceeding expectations across revenue, operating income, and earnings per share,” said Executive Vice President and CFO Amy Hood in the Q1 2026 earnings report. “Continued strength in the Microsoft Cloud reflects the growing customer demand for our differentiated platform.”

A key driver of Microsoft’s success has been its Microsoft Cloud division, which generated $49.1 billion in revenue—up 26 percent from the previous quarter. Cloud services like Azure saw a remarkable 40 percent revenue increase. However, this growth comes in the wake of a significant Azure outage earlier today, which may have influenced the timing of these results.

On the stock market, Microsoft (MSFT) closed the trading day at $541.55 per share, down $0.52. The share price continued to decline slightly during after-hours trading.

Overall, Microsoft’s Q1 2026 earnings report reflects solid momentum, particularly in its cloud business, positioning the company well for future growth.
