CHICAGO (WLS) — A man died after crashing into a median on Sunday in the Chatham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The crash happened in the 8700 block of S. Lafayette Avenue near the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD). Officers responded to reports of the crash at approximately 3:39 a.m.

It appeared that the driver of a black pickup truck lost control and crashed into a median, police said. The driver, a 62-year-old man, was taken to the University of Chicago hospital with injuries, where he later died.

No other injuries were reported, and it remains unknown if other vehicles were involved in the crash.
