CHICAGO (WLS) – A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle on the South Side on Friday night, Chicago police said.

Officers responded to the Auburn Gresham neighborhood’s 8800-block of South Lowe Avenue following a call about a shooting just after 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 37-year-old man inside a vehicle who had suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest. The victim was transported to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe multiple male offenders may have shot the man before fleeing the scene on foot. There is currently no one in custody.

Area Two detectives are actively investigating the case. Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
