Maharashtra DyCM Ajit Pawar Meets German Consul General To Strengthen Maharashtra–Germany Cooperation

A German delegation led by Consul General Christoph Höllier met with Deputy Chief Minister and Finance & Planning Minister Ajit Pawar at Sahyadri Guest House on Wednesday. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Maharashtra and Germany, covering key areas such as the Maharashtra–Baden–Württemberg partnership, skill migration agreements, vocational training, and language initiatives.
**Proposed Maharashtra–Germany Joint Steering Committee**
During the meeting, Deputy CM Pawar emphasized the importance of establishing a Maharashtra–Germany Joint Steering Committee. This committee aims to strengthen collaboration in several critical sectors, including green energy, sustainable mobility, smart cities, research and startups, higher education exchange, and cultural relations.
**Support for Entrepreneurs and Students**
Pawar assured the delegation of Maharashtra’s commitment to supporting German investors in the state. He also highlighted the focus on creating more employment opportunities in Germany for Maharashtra’s youth. Additionally, the Deputy CM addressed the challenges faced by Indian students pursuing education in Germany and underscored the need for continued support.
**Mutual Benefits of Cooperation**
Expressing confidence in the partnership, Pawar noted that the collaboration would bring advanced technology, skill development, employment generation, and foreign investment to Maharashtra. In return, Germany would benefit by gaining a reliable partner and access to new markets.
