LinkedIn has rolled out a new feature that allows job seekers to add their notice period directly to their profiles. This update aims to streamline the recruitment process by helping recruiters identify candidates who can join sooner, thereby reducing the usual back-and-forth about availability timelines.

### Enhancing Hiring Efficiency and Transparency

This feature is part of LinkedIn’s broader “Open to Work” option, which lets users discreetly signal their openness to new job opportunities. The new addition is particularly significant in markets like India, where long notice periods of 60 to 90 days are common. By providing recruiters with visibility into candidates’ notice periods early on, LinkedIn hopes to align hiring timelines with business needs more effectively and speed up the recruitment process.

### Adding Expected Salary to Profiles

In addition to notice periods, LinkedIn users can now include their expected annual salary as part of their profiles. Similar to the notice period data, salary expectations are only visible to recruiters, even if the “Open to Work” badge is public. This feature allows recruiters to quickly gauge whether a candidate’s salary expectations fit the company budget without having to bring up the topic during initial conversations.

### Tips to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile

Alongside these new features, LinkedIn has shared insights to help users boost their profile visibility. According to LinkedIn, profiles that list at least five skills are 5.6 times more likely to be viewed by recruiters. Additionally, enabling the “Open to Work” feature can double the chances of receiving messages from potential employers.

By utilizing these new options and optimizing profiles accordingly, job seekers can enhance their chances of getting hired faster and more efficiently on the platform.
