Kyler Murray puts Cardinals up 14-3 at end of first quarter

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray contributed significantly to the team’s early success against the Titans by using both his arm and his legs. He threw a key pass that set up the Cardinals’ first touchdown of the day and then sprinted 12 yards into the end zone himself to score the second touchdown. As a result, the Cardinals led the Titans 14-3 at the end of the first quarter. This rushing touchdown marked Murray’s first of the season and the 32nd of his career.

Initially, it appeared that Murray had thrown a touchdown to cap the team’s first possession. However, replays revealed that wide receiver Marvin Harrison did not get into the end zone despite a remarkable 43-yard catch while well-covered. Harrison has already recorded three catches for 79 yards as he aims to build on a strong finish to the team’s Week 4 loss to the Seahawks.

On the other side, Titans running back Michael Carter ran for a touchdown a few plays later. The Titans managed to drive into field goal range on their opening drive but stalled after a pair of incompletions.

If the Titans’ defense does not improve its ability to contain Murray, Harrison, and the Cardinals’ offense, they may continue to struggle, with their offense frequently settling for just three points.
