Karine Jean-Pierre wildly says she couldn’t recall a single video of Biden freezing or appearing confused: House transcript
Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Claimed She Couldn’t Recall a Single Video of Biden Appearing Confused During House Oversight Testimony
In a recent revelation, former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre astonishingly claimed she could not recall any video showing former President Joe Biden appearing confused or freezing during her testimony to the House Oversight Committee last month. Newly released video footage and transcripts from the closed-door session shed light on her responses.
Back in June 2024, Jean-Pierre infamously accused The Post and other media outlets of promoting “cheap fakes” after they reported video footage of then-81-year-old Biden wandering away and looking confused during events with world leaders.
During her September 12 interview with the Republican-led House Oversight Committee, Jean-Pierre faced intense questioning regarding those accusations. Jake Greenberg, chief counsel for the committee, asked, “Were all clips circulated on social media or otherwise showing President Biden being confused or freezing at times, were those all fakes?”
Jean-Pierre responded cautiously, “I can’t speak to every everything that was on social media.”
Greenberg pressed further, “Sure. But there were instances where videos were circulated of President Biden appearing confused or freezing for a moment that were real, correct?”
“Not that I recall,” Jean-Pierre stunningly replied.
The former press secretary argued that videos portraying Biden as lost “was not actually what was happening.”
When asked directly, “Did you ever see President Biden appear confused?” Jean-Pierre answered simply, “No.”
The interview took a notable turn when Jean-Pierre was questioned specifically about Biden’s disastrous June 2024 debate against President Trump and whether her ex-boss appeared “confused” at the forum.
Jean-Pierre responded, “[H]e seemingly, to me, looked like he had a cold.”
Greenberg countered, “So, when he said, ‘We finally beat Medicare,’ that’s indicative of a cold to you?”
“I think he was sick,” Jean-Pierre insisted. “I can’t speak to what was I can’t speak to, like, what he was thinking at the time.”
She added, “He said it was a bad night. He said it was a bad performance.”
Jean-Pierre’s testimony forms part of the House Oversight Committee’s broader investigation into an alleged cover-up of Biden’s mental decline. Earlier this week, the committee released a bombshell report on the matter.
The report concluded that the former president’s “inner circle” took significant steps to “meticulously stage-manage” his public appearances, lighten his private workload, and even block lawmakers from communicating with him.
Dozens of Biden’s executive actions “cannot all be deemed his own” after his closest advisers “went to great lengths to prop up” the 46th president as he suffered physical and cognitive decline while in office, the report asserted.
This investigation and the accompanying testimony continue to fuel discussions about transparency and the true state of the former president’s cognitive health during his tenure.
