**Justin Greaves Plays Valiant Knock as West Indies Push India to Final Day in 2nd Test at Delhi**
West Indies seam-bowling all-rounder Justin Greaves put on a resilient performance against India in the ongoing 2nd Test at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Greaves combined with Jayden Seales to put together a crucial 79-run partnership for the 10th wicket, stretching the match into the final day. Thanks to this stand, West Indies set India a target of 121 runs to chase.
### West Indies Bounce Back After Follow-On
West Indies began Day 4 with an overnight score of 173/2, having earlier been forced to follow on by India. John Campbell and Shai Hope had lifted the Windies from a precarious 35/2 the previous day. The pair successfully took the team past the 200-run mark in the morning session, with Campbell reaching his century. Hope also registered his own hundred as they pushed the score to 311/9.
At this point, Greaves and Seales came together to add valuable runs, taking West Indies’ lead beyond 200.
### Greaves and Seales Extend Lead Against Spin Attack
Facing the challenge of Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, Greaves and Seales played with determination. Both batsmen rotated the strike well and capitalized on their scoring opportunities. Their partnership frustrated the Indian bowlers, who had already toiled for over 190 overs in the match.
Jasprit Bumrah eventually ended the innings by dismissing Seales, who contributed a vital 32 runs off 67 balls, including one four and one six.
### Greaves Records Second 50-Plus Score in Tests
This innings marked Greaves’ second 50-plus score in Test cricket. Since making his Test debut last year, the West Indies all-rounder has accumulated 429 runs in 11 matches at an average of 22.57. His previous notable innings was a century against Bangladesh. Alongside his batting, Greaves has taken 15 wickets at an average of 35.66, although he remained wicketless in the Delhi Test.
### Record 10th-Wicket Stand for West Indies
According to ESPNcricinfo, the 79-run partnership between Greaves and Seales is the fifth-highest 10th-wicket stand in West Indies Test history. The highest belongs to Tino Best and Denesh Ramdin, who put on 143 runs against England during the 2012 Birmingham Test.
West Indies’ spirited resistance has kept the contest alive, setting the stage for an exciting final day at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
