Instagram hits 3 billion Monthly Active Users

As Instagram continues to amass more users, the picture and video-sharing app has reached a new milestone. Instagram has officially reached 3 billion Monthly Active Users (MAUs), making it the third Meta-owned app to do so.
Mark Zuckerberg confirmed today that Instagram hit 3 billion MAUs, as reported by CNBC. This achievement represents a significant portion of the human population and places Instagram in the same exclusive club as Facebook and WhatsApp.
“What an incredible community we’ve built here,” Zuckerberg said of the news.
Meta had previously stopped reporting MAU figures for its apps on a quarterly basis but still shares them when major milestones are reached. Instagram crossed the 2 billion Monthly Active Users mark back in 2022, while Facebook hit the 3 billion MAU milestone in 2023.
Over the years, Instagram has continued to roll out new features, with recent additions focusing heavily on video-sharing and AI integration to enhance user experience.
Meta is set to report its next round of earnings in October, where we may learn more about the company’s progress and future plans.
