**Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh High Court to Hear MY Hospital Rat Bite Case**

The Madhya Pradesh High Court is scheduled to hear the MY Hospital rat bite case on Monday. The case involves the tragic death of two newborn babies, who died after rats gnawed their fingers inside the neonatal ward of the hospital. The incident had earlier sparked widespread outrage across the state.

The court had taken suo motu cognizance of the matter, reflecting the gravity of the situation and the public’s concern.

The Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti (JAYS) organization, which had postponed its protest until October 6 due to ongoing court proceedings, has now announced plans to intensify its agitation if justice is not served promptly.

JAYS national president, Advocate Lokesh Mujalda, stated that the organization demands strict action against the dean, superintendent, and other officials of MY Hospital. Mujalda accused the government of shielding the guilty officers and concealing critical findings from the state-level investigation committee, which is chaired by IAS officer Yogesh Bharsat.

“The government is deliberately suppressing the report of the Yogesh Bharsat Committee. Even though the High Court sought a reply from the state, the government did not present this report and instead submitted misleading documents,” Mujalda alleged.

According to details filed in the writ petition, the government has submitted internal correspondence from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, including letters dated September 2 and 12, 2025, and an internal committee report dated September 10, 2025. However, the state-level committee report has neither been shared with the court nor the police.

Mujalda further claimed that the withheld state-level report possibly contains evidence that establishes the accountability of senior officials, which could lead to FIRs being registered against them. “That is why the report is being withheld from the police as well,” he added.

Meanwhile, Devaram, the father of one of the deceased infants, has filed an application at Sanyogitaganj police station, demanding action against those responsible based on the state government’s investigation report.

JAYS has warned that if justice is not ensured, the organization will launch a statewide movement after October 6. This movement will continue until strict action is taken against those found culpable for the tragedy.
