India were crowned Asia Cup 2025 champions after a tense final against their arch-rivals Pakistan. Chasing a target of 147 runs, India stumbled early with a top-order collapse. However, a composed 69 from Tilak Varma, coupled with valuable contributions from Sanju Samson (24) and Shivam Dube (33), ensured the Men in Blue lifted the trophy with five wickets to spare.
**Pakistan’s Innings – Bright Start, Sudden Collapse**
Pakistan began their innings strongly, with Sahibzada Farhan smashing a fluent 57 off 35 balls and Fakhar Zaman adding 46 to set a promising platform. Farhan’s half-century kept the momentum going, but after his dismissal in the 10th over, the innings quickly unraveled.
Saim Ayub managed only 14 runs, and the rest of the batting line-up collapsed dramatically, losing nine wickets for just 33 runs. From a strong position at 114/2, Pakistan was bowled out for 147, with five deliveries remaining unused. Only three Pakistani batsmen crossed double figures.
Kuldeep Yadav was the star for India with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 30 runs and tightening the screws during the crucial middle overs.
**India’s Chase – Tilak Varma Holds His Nerve**
India’s run chase started nervously as the top order failed to fire. Tilak Varma, however, showed remarkable maturity beyond his years, steering the chase with patience and confidence.
Sanju Samson supported him well, forging a crucial 57-run partnership. A dropped catch when Samson was on 12 proved costly for Pakistan, allowing India to build momentum.
After Samson’s dismissal, Shivam Dube took the attack to the Pakistani bowlers, while Tilak reached his half-century in 41 balls. The left-hander remained unbeaten on 69 off 51 balls, guiding India to a memorable victory.
Rinku Singh, playing his first game of the tournament, sealed the win by striking the winning run off his very first ball, finishing the match with a stylish five-wicket triumph for India.
