Five associates of the controversial cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan have been issued recovery notices totaling over ₹1.25 crore for alleged electricity theft at e-charging stations in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The action follows a raid conducted last week in the Baan Khana area, where a joint team discovered five e-charging centers operating with stolen electricity.

An FIR was registered against the accused, and recovery notices have been served accordingly.

### Details of the Amount Owed

The recovery notices have been issued against Wasim Khan, Monish Khan, Barkaan Raza Khan, Aman Raza Khan, and Ghulam Navi. The amounts claimed from each are as follows:

– Wasim Khan: ₹15.39 lakh
– Monish Khan: ₹22.29 lakh
– Barkaan Raza Khan: ₹37.32 lakh
– Aman Raza Khan: ₹26.92 lakh
– Ghulam Navi: ₹26.57 lakh

All five individuals are reportedly close aides of Ittehad-e-Millat Council chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan. They have previously been implicated in similar cases involving the operation of illegal charging units using stolen electricity.

### Ongoing Investigation and Action Against Officials

Chief Engineer Gyan Prakash described the case as “serious” and announced the formation of a three-member committee to investigate potential complicity among power department officials. He stated, “Action will be taken against any official found complicit.”

The district administration has directed that strict recovery proceedings be enforced. Bareilly’s Additional District Magistrate, Santosh Kumar Singh, assured, “Strict recovery will be ensured as soon as copies of the registration charges are received.”

### Property Demolition Following ‘I Love Muhammad’ Posters Row

The recovery notices are part of wider actions taken in the aftermath of violent clashes on September 6, triggered by controversy over “I Love Muhammad” posters. Following the unrest, police registered 10 FIRs and arrested over 70 individuals, including Maulana Raza Khan and his aides.

In a separate move, the Bareilly Development Authority demolished an illegally constructed banquet hall owned by Nafees, another aide of Maulana Raza Khan. Officials confirmed the hall was built unlawfully on Waqf land.

The ongoing developments highlight the continued scrutiny of Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan and his close associates amid law enforcement efforts to crack down on illegal activities linked to the controversy.
