If you’re diving into Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you might be wondering how to get your hands on the Kalos starter Pokémon: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. These three were originally the starter Pokémon in the Kalos region when Pokémon X and Y first launched over a decade ago.

#### Chespin
To get Chespin, you need to complete the side mission called **A Feisty Chespin**. This quest is located north of Restaurant Le Wow. During this mission, you’ll battle Chespin three times, and after defeating it each time, it will eventually join your team. Chespin is very easy to beat, especially if you chose Tepig as your starter; simply use Tepig’s Flame Wheel move to quickly finish each battle.

#### Fennekin
The mission to catch Fennekin is called **Get Well, Fennekin**. Start by visiting an herbalist near Cafe Classe. Then, you’ll head to Wild Zone 5 to collect Revitalizing Twigs. Be careful, as most twigs are broken and there’s a powerful Alpha Whirlipede nearby. Climb the ladder to grab the correct twig and return to Fennekin to have it join your party.

#### Froakie
To recruit Froakie, find the mission titled **A Challenge from Froakie** near the Jaune Pokémon Center. You will need to complete three scaffolding challenges within generous time limits. These challenges are not difficult, so complete all of them to add Froakie to your team.

All three Kalos starters will come in a standard Poké Ball and bear your Original Trainer (OT) name.

It’s worth noting that the final evolutions of these starters—Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja—each have officially revealed Mega Evolutions. However, you can only obtain their Mega Stones by ranking up online in battles.
