Jason Kelce was in Kansas City this past weekend ahead of Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Monday night showdown against the Washington Commanders. Before he and ESPN broadcast live from Kansas City on Monday night, Jason made his first trip to 1587 Prime, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ new steakhouse.

On Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Jason Kelce recapped his dinner at the steakhouse and shared a hilarious story involving their father, Ed Kelce. The former Philadelphia Eagles center mentioned that their father has hearing difficulties and noticed he wasn’t understanding the server when she was describing her favorite menu items.

“Favorite part of the evening, the waitress was— we were asking her, like, ‘Oh, what do you like?’ She started listing off all these things. And, you know, Dad can’t hear well. He’s on the far side of the table already. I look over at him, and I could tell he can’t hear a f*cking word,” Jason said.

Jason then told Travis Kelce that their father ended up loudly blurting out the dish he wanted to order — completely missing that the waitress was simply giving a rundown of the menu.

“He whispers to me, like, ‘I can’t f*cking hear a single thing she’s saying.’ And she’s still mid-explaining, and he just blurts out, ‘Whippercotta Meatballs.’ She’s like, ‘Oh yeah, the Whippercotta is a nice one,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh no, no. He’s ordering that.’ It was so f*cking funny,” Jason recalled (Timestamp: 3:55).

The server was gracious, noting that the meatballs were a good choice. Jason then had to explain to her that their father was now placing his order. Both Jason and Travis Kelce laughed hysterically over their father’s amusing miscue.

### Jason Kelce’s Honest Review of 1587 Prime

Jason Kelce expressed excitement last week about dining at 1587 Prime during his visit to Kansas City. On Wednesday’s podcast, he shared his honest thoughts on the experience.

The Super Bowl-winning center said he tried the burger named after Coach Andy Reid and applauded the restaurant’s upscale ambiance and the quality of all the menu items.

“There’s a lot more creativity to it. I didn’t know there was the GOAT Burger, which was like a step up from the Big Red, but I’m like, I’m getting the Big Red. I’m here for the Andy Reid Burger. Gotta get the Big Red. And then got the cheesesteak as well. We also got the meatballs and whipped ricotta,” he said (Timestamp: 3:14).

1587 Prime officially opened at the Loews Kansas City on September 17th, coincidentally Patrick Mahomes’ birthday. Mahomes and Kelce teamed up with restaurant group Noble 33 to bring their steakhouse vision to life.
