FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — It was a day of peaceful protests in Fresno, with many joining millions nationwide in the No Kings movement. On Saturday, 2,600 planned No Kings demonstrations took place across the country, marking the second round of nationwide protests as passionate and peaceful protesters took to the streets from coast to coast.

Republican leadership referred to the day-long event as “The Hate America” rally. From the shores of San Francisco to the streets of Times Square, protesters united under a shared sentiment against President Trump’s agenda.

In response to the protests, President Trump spent the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago golf club in Florida. “People need to speak out, and it’s wonderful millions around the country are speaking out today,” said California Democratic Senator Adam Schiff.

Closer to home, Fresno County saw two protests, including one near Manchester Center in Central Fresno. Hundreds marched in solidarity against what they describe as President Trump’s abuse of power. Demonstrators voiced concerns about the federal government’s militarization of National Guard troops deployed to U.S. cities and the mistreatment of immigrants by ICE agents.
