**Four Members of Inter-District Gang Arrested for Theft in Jabalpur**

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Four members of an inter-district gang have been arrested in connection with thefts in Dagdaga Hinota and Jodhpur Padav villages of Jabalpur district. Authorities recovered stolen gold and silver jewelry worth Rs 4 lakh, along with the motorcycle used during the crimes.

The accused—Imran Ali alias Saddam, Hemant Chakraborty, Swatantra Chaudhary, and Vinay alias Vinod Chakraborty—are all residents of the neighboring Narsinghpur district. They were apprehended by the Jabalpur police and have confessed to committing around ten thefts across Seoni, Narsinghpur, and Jabalpur districts.

### Investigation Details

A special team was formed to investigate the theft cases registered at the Tilwara police station, following clues pointing to suspects from a neighboring district.

Surendra Kumar Patel, a resident of Dagdaga Hinota village and a primary school teacher in Village Lamheti, filed a complaint on September 16. He reported that after leaving for school in the morning and locking his house, he returned in the evening to find the door lock broken. Inside, he discovered the locks of four cupboards had been broken, and jewelry and cash were missing.

In another incident, Anil Singh Lodhi of Jodhpur Padav village reported to Tilwara Police Station that he runs a general store near the canal bridge. After locking his front door and leaving for the hospital with his family, he found the door lock broken upon his return. The locker inside the room had also been broken into, and jewelry along with Rs 2,000 in cash was stolen.

### Modus Operandi and Arrests

During the investigation, it was revealed that the burglars would perform ‘rekhi’—a practice of scouting villages and targeting locked houses for theft.

Acting on a tip-off about two boys on a motorcycle near Tripuri Sundari Temple Road attempting to sell gold jewelry, police arrested Imran and Swatantra. Upon interrogation, they confessed to the thefts in Jodhpur Padav and Dagdaga Hinota, and revealed that their accomplices, Hemant and Vinay, were in possession of the stolen goods.

Following this lead, the police conducted a raid in Gotegaon, Narsinghpur district, and arrested Hemant and Vinay.

The police continue their investigation into the gang’s activities to recover any remaining stolen property and bring all involved to justice.
