Former IAS Probationer Puja Khedkar’s Parents, Dilip & Manorama, Have Fled India: Report

Former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) probationer Puja Khedkar’s parents, Dilip and Manorama Khedkar, have reportedly fled the country, sources told NDTV. A lookout notice has been issued against them in connection with a recent road rage incident in Navi Mumbai.
According to the police, the incident took place on September 13 on the Mulund-Airoli Road in Navi Mumbai. It began when a concrete mixer truck brushed against Dilip Khedkar’s Land Cruiser. Following the collision, Dilip Khedkar and his driver, Praful Salunkhe, allegedly forced the truck’s helper, Pralhad Kumar Chauhan, into the SUV and took him to Khedkar’s bungalow in Pune.
Police traced Chauhan to the bungalow and rescued him, despite Manorama Khedkar reportedly obstructing their entry. Investigations revealed that Chauhan was confined in a watchman’s room, served stale food, and threatened with severe consequences if he did not pay for the damages to the vehicle.
Furthermore, it has emerged that Manorama Khedkar attempted to tamper with CCTV footage from their residence, which was crucial evidence in the case. She allegedly provided an unidentified person access to her bedroom, where the DVR containing the footage was kept.
The Rabale Police registered a case under section 137(2) (kidnapping) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused. Additional sections have now been added, including 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 127(7) (wrongful confinement for extortion), and 308(4) (extortion).
Meanwhile, the Pune Police filed a separate case against Manorama Khedkar for allegedly obstructing the police and issued her a notice.
In a related development, Praful Salunkhe was apprehended by a team from the Navi Mumbai Police on Friday in Sindhkhed, Dhule. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
