Karur: The first visuals of actor-turned-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay have surfaced following the tragic stampede at his rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur, which claimed the lives of at least 36 people, including women and children.

In the footage, Vijay is seen leaving Trichy Airport, surrounded by media personnel. He exits his car and departs without responding to reporters’ questions.

“The news coming from Karur is worrying. I have called former Minister V Senthilbalaji, Minister Subramanian Ma, and the District Collector to ensure immediate treatment for civilians who fainted due to the crowd and are admitted to the hospital.

I have also ordered Anbil Mahesh, the Minister from nearby Trichy district, to provide necessary assistance on a war footing.

Additionally, I have spoken to the ADGP to take steps to improve the situation as soon as possible.

I request the public to cooperate with the doctors and the police.”

**Compensation Announced by CM Stalin**

Chief Minister Stalin announced ex gratia compensation from the CM Relief Fund:

– ₹10 lakh each for the families of those killed in the tragedy
– ₹1 lakh each for the injured undergoing treatment
