Elden Ring’s Switch 2 launch has been delayed
FromSoftware has officially announced a delay for the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, pushing its launch to 2026. The decision comes as the studio focuses on improving the game’s performance on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
The Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was first revealed during the Switch 2 Direct presentation in April. Following this announcement, the game was showcased at Gamescom in August. However, players who experienced the Switch 2 version at the event reported notably poor performance, raising concerns among the community.
In response to this feedback, FromSoftware shared a statement on X, confirming the delay and directly citing the need for performance improvements as the primary reason. This extra time will allow the studio to optimize the game to deliver a better experience on Nintendo’s new hardware.
