**Diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV Launched in India at ₹3 Crore**

Mercedes-Benz has reintroduced the diesel engine option for its iconic G-Class off-roader in India after a year-long hiatus. The new G 450d variant is priced at ₹2.9 crore (ex-showroom) and features the most powerful diesel engine in Mercedes-Benz’s global portfolio. With this launch, the G-Class lineup in India now offers petrol, diesel, and electric variants.

### Engine Specifications

The G 450d is equipped with a new 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine paired with 48V mild hybrid technology. It delivers a maximum power output of 367 hp and a peak torque of 750 Nm. An integrated starter generator provides an additional boost of up to 20 hp when needed.

Performance-wise, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds, achieving a top speed of approximately 210 km/h.

### Off-Road Capabilities

True to the G-Class legacy, the G 450d is built for rugged terrain. It offers a ground clearance of up to 241 mm and a fording depth of up to 700 mm. The SUV boasts approach, breakover, and departure angles of up to 31 degrees, along with stability on side slopes of up to 35 degrees.

Design enhancements include chrome-finished horizontal slats on the grille, new AMG alloy wheels, and subtly redesigned bumpers, giving the SUV a fresh yet familiar look.

### Luxurious Interior

Inside, the G 450d impresses with high-end luxury features. The cabin is adorned with Nappa leather upholstery and customizable ambient lighting, complemented by a premium Burmester sound system for an immersive audio experience.

The dashboard houses dual 12.3-inch displays powered by the latest MBUX NTG7 software. Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the augmented reality navigation system and a ‘transparent bonnet’ function, enhancing visibility and control over challenging terrains.

### Advanced Safety Features

Safety is prioritized with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Key features include active brake assist, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera setup, ensuring both driver confidence and passenger security.

### Limited Availability

Mercedes-Benz has imported only 50 units of the G-Class diesel variant in its first batch for the Indian market, making the G 450d an exclusive offering for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
