Cowboys QB Dak Prescott drops truth bomb after 14-point output vs. Bears

Dak Prescott didn’t hold back on the Dallas Cowboys’ struggles following their 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday evening.
The Cowboys have had a mixed start to the season. After competing closely against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in a narrow 24-20 loss, Dallas bounced back with an impressive 40-37 overtime victory over the New York Giants. However, they couldn’t carry that momentum forward against Chicago.
The Bears started strong and led 24-14 at halftime. Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ offense stalled in the second half, failing to score any points after the break. Reflecting on the loss after the game, Prescott was blunt about the team’s offensive shortcomings.
“Scoring 14 points is never going to be OK. Dang sure not with this offense, this unit, the team, the players that we have. Not acceptable, not to our standard, not anywhere what we believe in and we’re capable of doing,” Prescott said, according to reporter Jon Machota.
### How Dak Prescott and the Cowboys Played Against the Bears
Prescott is well aware of the offensive ceiling the Cowboys possess. That’s why this blowout loss is one the team must learn from and then move on.
Despite a tough evening, Prescott threw frequently, completing 31 of 40 passes for 251 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. The running game, however, failed to make a significant impact, as the passing game took center stage.
On the ground, Javonte Williams finished with 10 carries for 76 yards, while Miles Sanders added nine rushes for 41 yards. In the receiving corps, five players caught three or more passes. Jake Ferguson stood out with a career-high 13 receptions for 82 yards. George Pickens recorded five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown, while Jalen Tolbert contributed three receptions for 24 yards. Williams caught five passes for 16 yards, and Sanders had three receptions totaling 12 yards.
### Looking Ahead
The Cowboys will look to rebound in their next game, returning to their home field to face the Green Bay Packers on September 28 at 8:20 p.m. ET. Fans will be eager to see if Dallas can regroup and find the offensive rhythm needed to compete at a higher level.
