Cooper, Bates score 15, Louisiana Tech beats Jackson State 68-51

RUSTON, La. — Kaden Cooper scored 15 points off the bench to help lead Louisiana Tech to a 68-51 victory over Jackson State on Saturday. Cooper also contributed seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (2-1), while AJ Bates added 15 points and eight assists.

Avery Thomas finished with 13 points on 4-for-15 shooting, including 2-of-7 from beyond the arc, and made 3 of 4 free throws. He also pulled down nine rebounds.

For the Tigers (0-3), Jayme Mitchell led the team with 13 points and six rebounds. Daeshun Ruffin added 10 points, four assists, and three steals. Dorian McMillian contributed nine points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Looking ahead, both teams will play again on Wednesday. Louisiana Tech is set to visit Indiana State, while Jackson State will travel to face Auburn.
