Bucks’ Myles Turner blasts ‘false narrative’ after Tyrese Haliburton clip goes viral

Social media has a way of twisting narratives around sports, and a recent incident involving Milwaukee Bucks center Myles Turner is a prime example. Yesterday, Turner went viral after some comments he made on a podcast sparked controversy.
The clip in question featured Turner seemingly dissing his former Indiana Pacers teammate Tyrese Haliburton. After Turner’s unexpected departure from the 2025 Eastern Conference champions, fans were quick to criticize him.
“Tyrese Haliburton knows he’s protected, too,” Turner said on the “Thanalysis” podcast. “So he can go out there, talk his s***, say whatever he wants to do, and then he knows he has backup. He’s not going to be talking the same s*** if he’s in the middle of the street.”
However, Turner quickly walked back his comments just a few hours after the clip went viral. The Bucks star acknowledged that some rivalry has developed now that he has left the Pacers, but he emphasized that he holds nothing but respect and appreciation for Haliburton.
“Man, I know it’s fun to hate me right now because of the rivalry and all that, but don’t let this clip farming culture get to y’all’s head,” Turner wrote on X. “Me and @Hali went to war together for 3 years, and he did nothing but elevate my career. Dead this false narrative immediately. It’s all love on my side.”
Turner and Haliburton have been teammates since 2022, when Haliburton was traded to the Pacers from the Sacramento Kings. It was in Indiana where Haliburton truly broke out as one of the game’s premier guards. Known as a crafty passer, Haliburton often found Turner as one of his favorite targets in the paint.
Together, Turner and Haliburton helped lead the Pacers on a surprising run to the NBA Finals last season. Turner played an instrumental role in their march through the Eastern Conference Finals, with his hot shooting being a key asset in victories against the Bucks, Cavaliers, and the Knicks.
The Pacers came painfully close to completing their Cinderella story in Game 7. Unfortunately, Haliburton’s Achilles injury early in the game ultimately spelled disaster for the team’s championship hopes.
While social media may have amplified a brief moment of tension, it’s clear that the bond between Turner and Haliburton remains strong. Fans can expect both players to continue pursuing greatness, whether together or as rivals.
