Blue Jays outfielder Addison Barger made history in Game 1 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night by hitting the first-ever pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history.

Batting for Davis Schneider against left-hander Anthony Banda, Barger delivered a powerful 2-1 slider that soared 413 feet to right-center field. This marked his third home run of the playoffs.

Not only was this Barger’s first postseason grand slam, but it also played a pivotal role in a nine-run, six-hit inning that propelled the Toronto Blue Jays to an 11-2 lead over the defending World Series champions.
