**BJP’s Second List for Bihar Polls Released; Folk Singer Maithili Thakur Included**

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, featuring 12 new names, including popular folk singer Maithili Thakur. This marks Thakur’s political debut, as she will contest from the Alinagar seat in Darbhanga district. She officially joined the BJP on Monday.

The second list also includes notable candidates such as former IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar, Ranjan Kumar from Muzaffarpur (who replaces Suresh Sharma), Ram Chandra Prasad from Hayaghat, Subhash Singh from Gopalganj, and Chhoti Kumari from Baniapur.

With this release, the BJP has now announced a total of 83 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. The first list comprised 71 names, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha. Other prominent leaders like Ram Kripal Yadav, Tarkishore Prasad, and Mangal Pandey were also named. However, Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav was notably denied a ticket.

The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases: November 6 and November 11. The results will be declared on November 14.

### Bihar Polls Update: JD(U) Releases First List

In a related development, the BJP’s ally, Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)], released its first list of 51 candidates on Wednesday. The list includes Anant Singh (Mokama), Kaushal Kishore (Rajgir), Cabinet Minister Maheshwar Hazari (Kalyanpur), Ratnesh Sada (Sonbarsa), and Ajay Kushwaha (Meenapur).

As per the seat-sharing agreement, both BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each in the elections.
