Bills’ defense hit with massive injury blows right at start of Dolphins game
The Buffalo Bills are facing off against the Miami Dolphins, and things couldn’t have started any worse for their defense. The team came into the game with a few injuries already, but the situation worsened when Landon Jackson went down, followed by Tre’Davious White, as reported by Ryan Talbot.
“This has been nothing short of a disaster early for Buffalo. Landon Jackson’s injury leaves the Bills with just three defensive ends. Tre White exits this series, and Dane Jackson is in at cornerback. Easy touchdown between Jackson and Poyer for Tagovailoa. Depth is being tested, and it’s not looking great,” Talbot wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Jackson was later ruled out for the remainder of the game with a knee injury, which doesn’t bode well for the Bills’ defense. With Jackson sidelined, the team now has to find new ways to generate pressure on the defensive line. The severity of White’s injury remains uncertain, but if he is out, the Bills will have to rely on the next man up.
Despite these defensive setbacks, the Bills have performed well on offense this season, which has played a significant role in their success. Their defense has been somewhat inconsistent but generally capable of delivering when it counts. For instance, last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, the defense made crucial stops that helped secure a vital win.
As the season progresses, the hope is that these defensive injuries are not long-term. This is a crucial stretch for the Bills, especially with the New England Patriots currently leading the division. Buffalo will need to stay competitive and maintain close pressure on New England until they face off again later in the season.
