Authorities recovered gold ornaments worth several lakhs of rupees along with a stolen motorcycle. The total value of the seized property is estimated at Rs 10 lakh.

Between March and September 2025, the duo carried out multiple chain snatchings in the Piplani, Kolar, and Avadhpuri areas. Some of the reported incidents include:

– On March 20, an attempt to snatch a gold chain near Deep Mohini Colony.

– On September 9, a woman was attacked in a similar manner.

Police registered cases for all incidents and promptly launched investigations.

Govindpura ACP Aditi B. Saxena stated that a special team was formed under the leadership of Piplani police station in-charge Chandrika Singh Yadav. Utilizing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas, the suspects and their motorcycle were identified.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the two boys who later confessed to stealing motorcycles from Kolar and using them to facilitate chain-snatching over the past six months.

Further investigations revealed that the snatched gold chains were pawned at a gold finance firm to avail gold loans. Police are currently probing how the minors managed to pawn the stolen gold without undergoing proper verification procedures.

The police continue their investigation to uncover more details and prevent such crimes in the future.
