Sri Ma Vidyalaya, Thane, recently organized a legal awareness seminar titled “Cybercrimes Committed by Teenagers” for nearly 300 Class VIII students. The session aimed to educate young learners about the legal consequences of online activities that are often considered harmless.

The seminar was facilitated by second-year LLB students from VPM’s TMC Law College — Mukesh Tomar, Hemant Karekar, Priyanka Adhale, Ashish Chaudhari, and Poonam Aushikar. They employed a variety of engaging methods such as real-life case studies, myth-versus-fact discussions, and interactive games to make complex legal provisions accessible and interesting for the students.

Key topics covered during the seminar included laws related to juveniles, significant provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, the importance of digital footprints, and safety measures for victims of cyber offences.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who actively asked questions and shared their experiences. Teachers appreciated the initiative, emphasizing that such awareness programs are crucial in today’s rapidly evolving digital age.

By the end of the session, students gained a deeper understanding of accountability in the online space and recognized the need to act as responsible digital citizens. This event stood out as a meaningful collaboration between Sri Ma Vidyalaya and VPM’s TMC Law College, aimed at fostering legal literacy and digital responsibility among the younger generation.
