It was a huge hit when it premiered last year on Hulu. Now, “Paradise” is back with more twists and turns that’ll keep viewers guessing all season long. The Emmy-nominated series stars Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV and Charlie Evans as well as new cast members Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty. We’ll also see James Marsden and Jon Beavers in recurring roles. Season one ended with the reveal of who killed President Cal Bradford (Marsden) and with Xavier Collins (Brown) finding out his wife is still alive in the outside world and flying out to find her. “The show expands, we get a chance to see how people were able to survive that time,” Brown told On The Red Carpet. “We get to see what Xavier’s travails have been since leaving the bunker and we also get to see the aftermath of what happened at the end of season one inside of the bunker.” Woodley plays Annie, a character who survived the natural disaster that wiped out much of the world at Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate. Doherty plays Link, who’s part of a group of survivors headed out to the rumored bunker to try and restart the world. “He’s definitely built up this protective mechanism and wall and it’s when he meets Annie that falls apart,” explained Doherty. “When you’re lucky enough to have a screenplay as the way Dan (Fogelman, “Paradise” creator/EP) and his writers write, it’s all on the page and our job is to be as authentic and honest to the character that he’s created as possible,” said Woodley. Back inside the bunker, we find out more about Sinatra (Nicholson) and possibly her motivations behind creating said bunker. “It’s much bigger than what we first imagined it to be in season,” Nicholson said. “With every question answered you come up with five more! It’s never like the end and I love that about each episode.” With plenty of flashbacks and origin stories unfolding while real time drama plays out, viewers may want to have a notepad handy to follow along. “I think season two will have fans anxious but also attached. Anxious attachments!,” Shahi exclaimed. “Season two is gonna make fans overwhelmed but also I think very satiated and fulfilled,” said Brydon Bloom. “Season two is gonna make fans terrified. It is a really scary season,” said Marshall. The first three episodes of “Paradise” season two are streaming now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. New episodes will drop weekly.
