2 Framingham police officers off the force after misconduct probe, department says
The Framingham Police Department announced last week that the two officers who were previously placed on paid administrative leave are no longer employed by the department following an internal investigation.
The officers, whose names have not been made public, were placed on leave in September due to alleged misconduct. At that time, police officials noted that the issues under review involved potential health and wellness concerns.
An internal affairs investigation conducted by the Framingham Police Department concluded that violations of departmental rules and policies did occur. These violations were sustained, leading to the termination of both officers’ employment with the department.
Officials have not released any additional information regarding the specific allegations or the nature of the violations.
In addition to the internal review, the department referred the matter to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office for a criminal investigation. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed. The DA’s office did not respond to requests for comment as of Sunday evening.
Furthermore, the Framingham Police Department submitted the case to the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission for further review.
