How ‘Radio’ became the theme song of Dispatch
When Episode 6 of *Dispatch* was released on November 5, 2025, fans were treated to one of the best sequences in a video game this year. The housewarming party scene quickly became iconic, perfectly highlighted by the song “Radio,” which plays as characters mingle and dance through the night.
Behind this earworm of a song is Brea “Bershy” Shay, an independent musician who had nearly quit music before *Dispatch* propelled her track to new heights. I sat down with Bershy to get the full story on “Radio” and how it ended up in *Dispatch*.
### How “Radio” Made Its Way Into Dispatch
AdHoc Studio initially reached out to Bershy in the summer of 2024, expressing interest in using her song in a video game. Although she gave them permission, Bershy wasn’t sure the deal would actually come through.
“My manager was like, ‘sometimes these things fall through,’” she recalled. At the time, she thought, *“It would be really awesome if this happens, but I won’t want it too bad.”*
So when did Bershy find out her song was actually featured in *Dispatch*? It was only after Episode 6 was released last November.
“I only knew that it was in *Dispatch* when people started tagging me in the scene,” she shared.
### A Second Chance at Music
By this point, Bershy had mostly stepped away from making music for about a year and was taking massage therapy classes. She had just left class one day when “Radio” unexpectedly took the gaming world by storm.
“I cried. I cried,” she said.
### The Iconic Housewarming Party Scene
*Spoiler alert for Dispatch Episode 6 below.*
In Episode 6, “Radio” plays during the housewarming party scene after the character Invisigal queues the song up. If you look closely, you can see Bershy’s name and album artwork on Invisigal’s phone as she sets it on the table.
The song then plays in full, accompanied by a lively montage of the Z-Team dancing and partying through the night. Robert Robertson even dances to the song with either Invisigal or Blonde Blazer, depending on which character the player has romanced in the story.
When Bershy saw the scene for herself, she was shocked at how prominently her song featured in the game.
### The Impact of “Radio”
Little did she know, “Radio” would quickly become synonymous with *Dispatch*. Fans around the world embraced the track, driving it from hundreds of thousands to over 18 million listens on Spotify at the time of our conversation.
The song captures the feeling of how the right person can light up your life and help you come out of your shell. This was exactly what Bershy had in mind while writing it, drawing inspiration from her love of 80s pop.
### Gratitude to the Dispatch Community
Bershy expressed deep appreciation for the *Dispatch* community and the overwhelming support she’s received over the past month.
“Everybody has been so wonderful,” she told me. “These people are dope. They love music and they love supporting artists.”
### A Life Changed
Shortly after “Radio” became a hit, Bershy quit her day job to fully focus on her music career. She wrote on Instagram that *Dispatch* and AdHoc Studio had “changed my life.”
She reaffirmed this during our interview, stating that the success of “Radio” has given her a second chance at following her dream.

Bershy’s journey is a testament to the power of music and the unexpected ways it can find its audience. Thanks to *Dispatch* and the passionate fanbase, “Radio” is no longer just a song — it’s an anthem for connection, joy, and new beginnings.
