**Gen Z Youths in Parsa Demand Stricter Border Control Amid Rohingya Influx**

Kathmandu, December 1 – With Bangladeshi Rohingyas expelled from India now entering Nepal through various border points, Gen Z youths in Parsa have called for tighter controls along the Nepal-India border.

On Sunday, members of the “Gen Z Group Parsa” submitted a memorandum to Parsa’s Chief District Officer (CDO) Bhola Dahal. In their appeal, the youths demanded immediate action to prevent the infiltration of Rohingyas and curb other illegal activities occurring via the district’s open border with India.

The group expressed concerns over growing misuse of the Nepal-India open border, highlighting a rise in infiltration, human trafficking, and organized crime. They submitted an eight-point demand, urging the local administration to implement stricter and more effective control measures.

Among their key demands were:
– Establishment of “verification booths” at all Parsa border crossings to check identity documents.
– Installation of CCTV cameras and the use of drones for digital surveillance.
– Joint Nepal-India border patrols.
– Adoption of a “zero tolerance” policy towards illegal activities.
– Launch of special anti-trafficking campaigns.

The youths also warned that illegal activities may increase as the upcoming election approaches, posing a significant threat to Nepal’s national security and social harmony.

Bishes Shah, a leader of the Gen Z Group Parsa, stated that individuals entering Nepal illegally from India are often involved in criminal activities, disturbing communal harmony, and engaging in illicit financial transactions. He emphasized the urgent need for strict monitoring by both local administration and police forces.

Shah further noted that many Rohingyas, previously residing in India after being expelled from Bangladesh, have started entering Nepal due to the Indian government’s crackdown. This, he said, heightens the need for vigilant and robust border control by security personnel.

Receiving the memorandum, CDO Dahal acknowledged the youths’ concerns and affirmed that their worries are valid.
