**Ryan Routh Found Guilty of Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump at West Palm Beach Golf Course**

Ryan Routh, 59, was found guilty on all charges Tuesday for attempting to kill Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred two months before Trump clinched his second presidency.

According to CNN, Routh represented himself during his federal trial held in Fort Pierce, Florida. He faced five charges, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Authorities revealed that Routh had created a “sniper’s nest” near the sixth green of the golf course but did not fire any shots at Trump. The trial featured nearly two weeks of testimony and hundreds of exhibits. The final witness detailed how Routh was allegedly stalking Trump and gathering both physical and electronic evidence.

Prosecutors stated that Routh had purchased a military-grade weapon, tracked Trump’s movements, and used a dozen burner phones as part of a politically motivated plot to kill the former president.

After roughly three hours of deliberation, the jury returned with a guilty verdict on all counts.

Following the verdict, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, saying:
“Congratulations to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and the entire DOJ team on the conviction, in Florida, of the person who attempted an assassination on my life. The trial was meticulously handled, and I would like to thank the Judge and Jury for their time, professionalism, and patience. This was an evil man with an evil intention, and they caught him.”

Trump continued, “I would also like to thank the Secret Service, Department of Florida Law Enforcement, and the wonderful person who spotted him running from the site of the crime, acted by following him, and getting all information on car type and license plate to the Sheriff’s Office IMMEDIATELY, which led to his arrest and conviction. What incredible instinct and foresight this person had. A very big moment for JUSTICE IN AMERICA!”

Shortly after the verdict was read, Routh reportedly attempted to stab himself in the neck with a pen. Courtroom witnesses told CNN that authorities intervened and prevented the act. Additionally, Routh’s daughter had an emotional outburst in the courtroom following the announcement.

Routh’s attempt occurred on September 15, 2024, just nine weeks after then-presidential candidate Donald Trump narrowly survived a previous assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In that earlier attack, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks fired eight shots, grazing Trump’s ear before being shot and killed by Secret Service counter-snipers, according to The Guardian.
