Gray-New Gloucester High School, Gray-New Gloucester Middle School and the Russell School were placed under heightened security measures for about an hour Tuesday because of nearby law enforcement activity. In a Facebook post just before 11: 40 a. m., MSAD 15 said the three schools were under a “lock out/hold in place” status at the request of local law enforcement officers while they resolved a situation in the area. The school district said all students and staff were safe. Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said Maine State Police personnel were assisting with a U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigation in the area.
