A cause of death has been determined for Jimmy Kimmel Live! musical director Cleto Escobedo III, who died at age 59 on Tuesday.

According to his death certificate, the talk show’s bandleader died of cardiogenic shock, a condition that limits the heart’s ability to pump enough blood to sustain life.

Underlying causes included vasodilatory shock, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver, as reported by TMZ. Contributing factors listed were sepsis, graft versus host disease, immunosuppression, chronic kidney disease, and pneumonia.
