Sabrina Carpenter is gearing up to make her feature film debut. The pop star will both produce and star in a new musical movie inspired by *Alice in Wonderland* for Universal Pictures.

The as-yet-untitled film draws inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s classic book and will be written and directed by Lorene Scafaria. Scafaria is best known for directing several episodes of *Succession*—for which she earned two Emmy nominations—and for helming the movies *Hustlers* and *Seeking a Friend for the End of the World* as both director and writer.

While plot details remain under wraps and a release date has not yet been announced, the film’s production team includes notable names. Marc Platt will co-produce through his company Marc Platt Productions, alongside Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton.

In addition to her exciting film project, Carpenter continues to make waves in music. Following the release of her new album *Man’s Best Friend* this past September, she has earned six nominations at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards.

One of the biggest nods is her nomination for Song of the Year with “Manchild,” marking her second time being honored in this category. Last year, she received a nomination for “Please Please Please.” As before, Carpenter shares the nomination with her co-writer Jack Antonoff.
