Players have flocked back to the Ghost series in droves. Sony recently reported that the sequel to *Ghost of Tsushima*, *Ghost of Yotei*, has sold more than three million units in just its first month.

On November 10, 2025, Sony released its Q2 FY2025 earnings report and took a moment to highlight the success of *Ghost of Yotei*. The game sold an impressive 3.3 million units in the 32 days following its release, showcasing strong demand for the series’ latest installment.

While there is no direct one-to-one comparison, it’s worth noting that the original *Ghost of Tsushima*, which launched on July 17, 2020, had sold 5 million units by November 11, 2020. At that time, the PlayStation 4 had been on the market for seven years. In contrast, the PlayStation 5, which launched five years ago as of this month, has now reached a lifetime sales figure of 84.2 million units, as revealed in the same earnings report.

*Ghost of Yotei* has also been met with critical acclaim. Contributing Guides Editor Aidan O’Brien praised the game in his review, saying, “*Ghost of Yotei* is probably my favorite example of an open-world game, avoiding the trap of getting players lost in busy work as a sort of time gate, and instead building a world that you simply want to engage with.”

With strong sales and glowing reviews, *Ghost of Yotei* is clearly making a significant impact on the PlayStation gaming landscape.
