MPPSC Exams Record Barely 30% Turnout

**Low Candidate Turnout Raises Concerns in Latest MPPSC Recruitment Exam**
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The recent recruitment examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) witnessed a concerning turnout of only around 30 percent of registered candidates. The exam aimed to fill 15 vacant posts for the positions of Deputy Director, Principal Grade-2, and Assistant Director.
Out of 2,621 candidates who had registered for the test, only about a third appeared to take the exam. This low attendance is not an isolated incident; several recent MPPSC examinations have experienced similar declines in participation. For instance, the State Engineering Services Exam held recently recorded a turnout of barely 55 percent of applicants.
Officials and experts are increasingly viewing this low turnout as a matter of concern. Many attribute the trend to factors such as limited vacancies available in the recruitment process, which may be discouraging candidates from applying or attending.
MPPSC is a state-authorized competitive examination body responsible for recruiting candidates for various positions within the Madhya Pradesh state government. These positions include roles in the State Civil Services and State Police Services. The recruitment process typically includes three major stages: Prelims, Mains, and an Interview.
In related news, earlier this month, the MPPSC PCS final results were declared. Devanshu Shivhare secured the top rank, followed by Rishav Awasthi and Ankit.
The ongoing trend of low candidate turnout has prompted calls for a closer look at the recruitment process and opportunities to encourage greater participation in future examinations.
