President Donald Trump has stated that he “won’t be extorted” by Democrats to reopen the government, making it clear that he has no plans to negotiate as the government shutdown approaches its sixth week.

In an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” that aired on Sunday, Trump criticized Democrats who are demanding an extension in health care subsidies, saying they “have lost their way.”

He also predicted that Democrats will eventually capitulate to Republicans, who have insisted they will not negotiate until a vote to reopen the government is held.
